Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

Calling all demigods! Join us as we journey into the exciting world of Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan.

Designed for students in grades 3–5, this six-week literature club combines reading, discussion, and hands-on activities to help children strengthen their reading comprehension while bringing the story to life.

Each session includes a teacher read-aloud, partner reading, guided discussion, and engaging activities inspired by the chapters we’ve explored. Students will make predictions, analyze characters, solve challenges, complete creative projects, and connect Greek mythology to the adventures of Percy and his friends.

Participants will continue reading at home between meetings so we can dive deeper into the story together each week.

6–8 Literature Club

Seedfolks

Discover how one small seed can grow into something much bigger.

Our 6–8 Literature Club explores Seedfolks by Paul Fleischman through thoughtful discussion, collaborative reading, and meaningful activities that connect literature to students’ own communities and experiences.

Throughout this six-week program, students will examine themes of community, identity, empathy, perseverance, and belonging while strengthening reading comprehension, vocabulary, discussion skills, and critical thinking.

Each session combines teacher read-alouds, partner reading, literary discussions, and interactive projects designed to help students connect personally with the novel and its diverse perspectives.

Students will read additional chapters at home between meetings, allowing class time to focus on rich conversations and engaging activities.

Perfect for middle school students who enjoy thoughtful discussions, meaningful stories, and exploring different perspectives.
